Where's Reagan?

"Where's Reagan?" Matthew asked, after it was dark outside. "I heard her barking, but when I went outside, she wasn't out there.

"Well, Jon could have taken her to the Weeses." I said. "But wait, Jon's at Rader. " I went out side and called Reagan's name over and over again.

"Be careful!" Momma warned. "Reagan had her rabies shot this afternoon."

I called her name again, and I heard a whine.

"It might be a bad guy holding Reagan and waiting for you so he can kill you!" Momma said.

"Laura, go get the shot gun in Jon and Phil's room. And load it." I said, more jokingly than serious.

I called Reagan's name again she this time, she barked. "Matthew, come with me!" We fetched a flashlight, and headed toward the shed, calling her name the whole time. Reaching the shed, we opened the door - but she wasn't there. And she barked again - this time, from across the yard. My mind went wild, after being scared by Momma.

We ran to the porch, and shined the flashlight in the direction where we heard the bark. And it shone right on the play house Matthew, Joe, and Lydia were building, and Reagan's little face, poking through a crack in the wall. She had walked into the house, and hadn't been able to get back out! Poor Reagsies! Well, she was very happy to be let out of her prison - so happy, in fact, that she smacked me in the face with a recycled bubble container. Nope, there's nothing wrong with Reagan.=)

We're Farmers!

Our garden

The garlic's growing tall!
I'm not sure what this is...maybe an onion? Whatever it is, it's growing out of the same raised bed that the garlic is growing out of.

I think these are chives...tell me if I'm wrong, Krissy.=)

Parsley (Notice Peter Rabbit coming to eat the parsley)

Our decomposed compost bin. We started composting last summer and it cut our garbage bill in half! We compost everything we eat and everything we eat off that's not reusable.=) And they don't smell too bad, either! (Notice the spinach plant growing out the side!)

Inside our other bin. We layer the table scraps with straw so it will decompose quicker.

And of course, every farm has a dog.

And chickens! (This chick, unfortunately, is not one of our barred rock chicks, but I haven't any good pictures of ours.)

Reagan Having a Bath

Today, Jon gave Reagan a bath. She hasn't had one since her birthday, November 14. She enjoyed the first part of the bath, but then she decided she wanted to get out.

I want to get out!

Walking Reagan

Matthew and I just got back from a three-mile walk with Reagan. We walked all the way up Main St., walked past Second Chance and the Lynden Christian School before we decided it was too much of a walk to go the Van Cleves, so we turned around and walked up front street where we bought two candy sticks from Homespun. When we got back home, Reagan was so tired, she just laid down in the back yard instead of following me all around like she normally does. Here's what it's like walking Reagan:

Well, not quite.=)

We've had Reagan for About One Year!

We've had Reagan for about a year now! We're not exactly sure when we got her, but we know it was after Christmas.=) Here are a few pictures; they're not all in order, but it takes to much time to fix that.=)

Reagan on her first hike. She loved it!

Giving Jon a kiss.

The cutest puppy that every was! (Sorry Em and Ali, but I'm just a little bit prejudice.=)

My little angel.=)

The first day we had Reagan, we block off the kitchen so she could have the whole room to herself, but she still wasn't satisfied.=)

A couple days after we got her, Jon bought her this new bed. (Btw, that bed has already been destroyed, as well as at least two or three others.=)

When she was still little, after coming inside from a walk, we'd dry her off, and run a heater to keep her warm.

She is so cute!

At first, Reagan had a regular schedule of eating, playing, eating again, and then sleeping.

When we first took her on a walk, after a few blocks she would get cold and tired, so one of us would pick her up and wrap her in our coat.

And now she's a big girl! (Btw this picture was taken about six months ago, and she's a lot bigger now!)

Gardening and Pressing Flowers

Today, Matthew and I went out to the garden and tore out the remaining plants: the zucchini, cucumber, and beets. (Sorry Sarah, we got only one full size beet. We'll have to remember that for next year!) There are still some peas left, and we'll wait for a little while before taking those out.

Matthew getting the last of the swiss chard.

Picking the "dud" beets. Most of them were about an inch long, but we did manage to get one or two the size of a golf ball.=) Just do not replant beets or radishes. They will not grow!

No more zucchini and cucumbers!

Reagsies had the time of her life! For the first time in months she was let in the garden!

Lydie and I picked some of her flowers that she had planted early this year so we could press them. She told me she was so excited beacause Kelsie presses flowers, too!

Smashing the flowers.

"My turn!"

Reagan

Here Reagan is performing some fo the things she's learned. She's kinda tired, so she's not doing it very well.
